Earlier last month, Misao Okawa, a Japanese woman regarded as the world’s oldest living person on earth by the Guinness World Records, celebrated her birthday in the presence of her close family members. Click here if you missed it!
However, according to recent reports, Okawa passed away at 117 on Wednesday morning in Osaka, Japan, a local official from the city told CNN.
Okawa who was the daughter of a kimono shop owner in Osaka, was born on March 5, 1898 and. She left behind three children, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
