The term ‘Romance Tourism‘ will hardly surprise many globetrotters who have traveled to wide swathes of Asia, particularly South East Asian countries where many older Western men visit to hire young Asian girls for romance.
But, reading about older European women going for the equivalent of their men counterpart is something that has raised eyebrows! Sofie Amalie Klougart, a onetime aid worker with a non-profit group, who has been doing extensive aids program in Kenya observed several older European women hiring men in Kenya for romance at the beaches in exchange for free meals, gift and cash from their older female clients, Business Insider Malaysia reports.
Sofie is now doing a documentary on this type of romance tourism, which focuses on lonely men and women who travel to impoverished countries in search of companionship and locals who willingly oblige to have romantic relationships with them in exchange for gifts, free meals or cold hard cash.
