Two women on a suicide bombing mission believed to be in their late 20s killed themselves and two bystanders in Ngamdu village of Borno state yesterday. According to Premium Times, the women were dressed in Hijabs and had bombs strapped under their clothes, which they planned on setting off with the intention of blowing themselves and other bus passengers after boarding the vehicle.
However, the bus driver became suspicious of their movements and asked the two women to step out from his bus. Shortly after all the passengers came down from the bus, the bomb on the women exploded killing both female suicide bombers and unfortunately, two other bystanders as well.
According to a witness, “The women almost convinced one bus driver to convey them to Damaturu but the driver later became suspicious and lied that he was not getting to Damaturu.”
