AFRICAN CONNECTION – “A STORY OF LOVE AND POWER“
“African Connection” centers on a king in northern Nigeria who retires to his home from America to fully assume his royal duties and prepare for the eventual return of his family. During the interim, however, he makes frequent visits to America to further the well being of his wife and children, especially his sickly youngest and favorite daughter, Miri — a daily source of emotional drain to the king.
In his last visit, while Miri suffers a crisis the king also learns of his terminal illness that affords him little time to live. Meanwhile, Ashley, an elegant, young and beautiful Nigerian just arriving to live with her family in America is introduced to the flamboyant Prince Ahmed by her friends. Prince Ahmed will now have to decide between his current girl friend, Evelyn, and the charming Ashley. When coupled with the sibling rivalry between him and his brother, Omar (the king’s elder of the twin sons), Ahmed finds a seemingly effective answer to his problems by resorting to the greedy option of dealing in illegal drugs. Ahmed is arrested and jailed. The emotional toll on the king is greatly magnified as his family
is humiliated.
