Lindsey Blansett, a Wellington mom who severely beat and stabbed her son, Caleb in his bedroom while his 9-year-old sister was at home will be charged with first degree murder of killing her 10-year-old son, police said. Blansett ‘decided the boy would be better off in heaven’ and killed him to free him of future suffering, NY Daily News reports.
Reports alleged that Caleb’s mum had hit him with a rock and then stabbed him in the chest. Caleb died in his bedroom but his sister was not injured. Ironically, Blansett’s neighbor said she had never shown any signs that she was abusing the children and seemed to have paid attentions to her kids. “She was a nice lady. She didn’t seem like she was capable of killing her own son,” a neighbor told news media.
