The name of Novak Djokovic is not new in the tennis circuit. The tennis champion is known throughout the globe as the tennis great in the breath of John Mc Enroe in the 70s. In the Australian Open Men’s Final on Sunday, Djokovic claimed the trophy again when he beat another well-known champion, Andy Murray of Britain to win his 5th Australian open.
Djokovic beat Murray 7-6, 6-7, 6-3 and 6-0 in a widely anticipated game because of his earlier winning record against the Briton. Andy Murray played a great tournament, as many sport commentators and punters said, but the Briton conceded defeat at the last moments of the game due to the overwhelming odds against Djokovic. Punters in parts of Asia such as Singapore that legalized sport gaming had overly stacked their winning cards on Djokovic.
Djokovic issued the following statement to praise his rival after receiving the trophy: “Firstly I want to return the favour and thank Andy for a great tournament, I want to wish you all the best for the end of the season. Most of all I want to congratulate you and Kim on your engagement and wish you a wonderful wedding and many kids.”
Andy Murray is engaged and will be getting married soon.
