Several Boko Haram Militants disguised as women were captured by the Nigerian Military as they tried to escape from the northeastern town of Baga, according to Nigerian officials and reported by Newsweek. This discovery comes as Nigerian soldiers continue to increase their counter-terror operations to fight the radical Islamist group’s insurgency in the northeastern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe, all of which have remained under a state of emergency.
The jihadists dressed in women’s clothing were captured in Baga, a town in Borno state that Nigerian government reported recapturing this week. Major-general Chris Olukolade, Nigeria’s defense spokesman, also claimed that during the military’s operation in Baga they found “terrorists” dressed as women, bombs “hidden in various locations” and other militants hiding in the town.
