A Nigerian footballer attached to the Malaysian club T-Team suddenly collapsed just barely 3 minutes into the game, and passed away shortly after, the Star Malaysia reported.
The 30 year old player collapsed on the pitch on Saturday, 13th June at the start of the game, as his club T-Team was about to play against Kelantan, another club in the state of Kelantan in Malaysia. The game was being played in Sultan IV Stadium in the town of Kota Baru, Kelantan in the east coast of the Malaysian peninsula. According to The Star, Syahrizan from Kota Baru stated that “he was pronounced dead at the hospital about 30 minutes later.”
A witness and player for the Kelantan team, Amiridzwan Taj Tajuddin told the Star, Malaysia that he suddenly collapsed just barely 2 – 3 minutes at the beginning of the game.
“The game had just started for about two or three minutes. Suddenly, he collapsed.”
