Secret Service was alerted when a man wearing a Bernie Sanders sticker made an attempt to leave an obituary notice for Hillary Clinton with a Las Vegas, Nevada, newspaper this week.
The man’s notice for the Las Vegas Review-Journal was completed Friday and Clinton’s death was pegged as taking place Saturday, a report from the newspaper said. He reportedly identified himself as Don Schubert.
The Nevada Democratic caucuses were set to take place on Saturday. The Review Journal stated that Schubert was told to leave its lobby and he’d been reported to the Secret Service.
There was a Sanders sticker on Schubert’s shirt, and the maroon Toyota Prius he left in had Sanders campaign stickers on it, according to the newspaper.
‘Don Schubert’s House’ is a volunteer phone bank location in Long Beach, California, on Sanders’ website, its report said.
Schubert told the Review-Journal Friday evening a Secret Service agent contacted him on the phone, said he could be arrested, however the Secret Service did not plan to do so.
