About a week ago, it was reported that the Barcelona fire department was called to deal with a strange incident that happened at Barcelona Zoo. According to the official statement, witnesses saw a man, dressed in a military uniform at the time when the event took place, jump into the Lions enclosure.
The 45-year old Spanish man was already dragged into a tunnel and seriously injured by the lions by the time the fire department arrived at the scene. However, the firemen managed to keep the lions at a safe distance, by using the fire hoses. Finally, the rescuers created a safety zone and the heavily wounded man was successfully taken out of the enclosure and rushed to hospital.
The Doctors said the man sustained multiple injuries and though his condition remains serious, his life does not seem to be in imminent danger. The fact that the man wasn’t killed by the lions is just miraculous, to say the least.
