Luxembourg, a small country in Europe with a population of just over half a million and almost entirely Roman Catholic will become the second country in Europe with its Head of Government marrying a same sex partner. According to Yahoo News, this will be the second same sex marriage in Europe after Iceland Prime Minister married her same sex partner five years ago.
Prime Minister Xavier Bettel married his same sex partner, Gauthier Destenay from Belgium in a civil ceremony on Friday, 15th May. 42 years old Bettel who heads the DP Liberals had trounced the 34 years of Christian Democrats rule in the tiny European State by entering a coalition with the Green and Socialist Parties.
Luxembourg is expected to takeover the Presidency of the European Union in July and his sex sex union would be taken to a new prominence, according to Yahoo News.
