Jennifer Lopez performed at the Mawazine World Rhythms International Music Festival in Rabat, Morocco, on May 29, wearing a bodysuit, bejeweled fishnet tights and stiletto boots for the show that was broadcasted on the state-owned channel 2M.
TMZ however reported that an education group filed a lawsuit against the 45-year-old superstar because she “disturbed public order and tarnished women’s honor and respect,” in response to Lopez’s sizzling show!
The BBC also confirmed that Moroccan Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane is taking action by ordering an investigation into the broadcast, that is being described as “sexually suggestive” and a “serious delinquency,” featuring “disgraceful scenes” that violated the nation’s audiovisual law, while criticising the network for airing the performance, which included scenes “with sexual overtones and which were indecent and provocative to the religious and moral values of Moroccan society.” Benkirane is reportedly seeking “legal measures against those responsible.”
Al-Arabyia News further confirmed that a lawsuit has been filed by the educational group in Morocco claiming that she “disturbed public order and tarnished women’s honor and respect.” If legal proceedings progress, the 45-year-old singer could face up to two years in prison!
That’s serious!
