We found this very interesting that the 4th grade and 10-year-old son of Cleveland Cavaliers Basketball Star ‘LeBron James’ is already receiving recruiting letters and scholarships offers from colleges although he won’t be finishing fourth grade until later this spring.
“Yeah, he’s already got some offers from colleges,” James said. “It’s pretty crazy. It should be a violation. You shouldn’t be recruiting 10-year-old kids.”
“He plays just like I did,” James told reporters. “He has great awareness, and he’d rather pass first and set guys up. Most kids nowadays just want to score.”
This is a testament that the younger LeBron apart from his famous name, has some innate talents that the college recruiters have already spotted. It is not uncommon for college coaches to occasionally offer scholarships to top prospects before they get into high school in hopes that those players will be more loyal to them since they showed an interest first, and will most likely choose them when they are ready to choose a college.
