At the recent annual ‘Baselworld‘ exhibition in Basel, Switzerland, the luxury swiss watch maker, Tag Heuer announced a partnership with technology giant Google and Intel to produce a smart edition of their watch brand – a wrist computer. The watch will be released later this year, but not specific date or projected price of the luxury watch was given by the partners, according to a report from New York Times.
According to David Singleton, the Google Director of Engineering for Android wear has been eyeing a probable fusion between technology, beauty and high fashion, referred to as “fusing beauty with technology” for a “unique blend of emotion and innovation.” Google is not the only company that has lately attempted to fuse technology with a high price tag. By going upmarket and selling the smart watches at the luxury and jewelry outlets, the technological giants are now racing in a new frontier to capture the creme of the society’s market as never before.
