Several criticisms have been levied on Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s regarding his qualification to run for the President following the news that the Nigerian Army did not have his certificate. Finally, the Nigerian Army has released the academic qualifications of All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Flag bearer, Gen. Buhari, although they previously denied being in possession of it.
The Nigerian Army spokesperson however stated that they cannot vouch for the authenticity of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Secondary Examination result. Although, military records showed that Gen. Buhari obtained the WASC in 1961, with credits in the following subjects: English Language, History, Geography, Health Science, and Hausa, neither the original copy nor the certified original copy nor statement of result to confirm the authenticity of the grades were available to them. He also said he was not sure if the Army had validated Mr. Buhari’s certificate in the 1960s.
Premium Times however obtained copies of the records showing the military noted that Gen. Buhari had the requisite WASC qualifications.
