The first trailer for Warner Bros.’ “The Lego Batman Movie” was released online on Thursday, the same day that the other Batman movie (“Batman v Superman”) hits theaters.
Will Arnett voices the Caped Crusader, who beatboxes while “laying down some dope tracks” before dropping the mic and introducing the teaser.
“I saved the city again. It was off the chain,” Batman tells his computer as he enters the Batcave to the tune of Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow.”
He then chows some Lobster Thermidor, which Alfred has left in the fridge.
“I deserve this today. Today I deserve it,” he says in between bites.
Lego Batman first appeared in 2014’s “The Lego Movie,” which grossed almost $470 million worldwide.
“Lego Batman Movie”, a spinoff of “The Lego Movie”, also stars Michael Cera, who voices Robin. Rosario Dawson is Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes is Alfred Pennyworth, Zach Galifianakis is the Joker and Mariah Carey is Gotham’s mayor, Marion Grange.
Chris McKay, who supervised animation on “The Lego Movie,” is directing the film from a script by Seth Grahame-Smith. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who helmed the first installment, are producing the film along with Dan Lin and Roy Lee.
The movie will be released on Feb. 10, 2017.
