The film adaptation of E.L. James novel “Fifty Shades Of Grey” which was released to the North American cinema circuit on Valentines’ Day, made a new box office record of $81.7 million on Sunday, 15th of February. According to industry observers as reported in Los Angeles Times, since Monday, 16th of February is a holiday in the United States, “President’s Day“, the film is on track to hit the expected $90.7 million in sales.
The movie was earlier designated to hit the cinemas before Valentine’s Day but strategically positioned to be released on the 14th of February to take full advantage of the long holidays in the US, which appeared to have paid off for the producers of the movie.
