A female suicide bomber wearing a hijab walked into Biu market in the town of Biu, Borno State at around 3.30 pm on Thursday, 12th February and blew herself up, killing 6 persons including the woman and injuring scores, according to source from Reuters.
A witness named Ahmadu Saleh narrated that he saw the woman strolling into the market and nobody was suspicious of her intentions until the bomb detonated. A medical practitioner working at the emergency center of Biu hospital who chose to remain anonymous also told Punch that at least 10 people were brought in with varying degree of burn injuries.
Borno State is at the height of Boko Haram insurgency. The Police General of Borno State, Samuel Aduda could not immediately respond to questions about this latest attack, according to Reuters.
