The father of “Jihadi John” alleged to be the ISIS frontman seen as a masked executioner in several publicized beheading videos recently disowned his own son, naming him a “terrorist” and calling him a “dog,” according to NY Daily News.
According to a Telegraph report, since “Jihadi John’s” identity was unveiled as “Mohammed Emwazi” a few weeks ago, his 51-year-old father, Jassem Emwazi, has been extremely ashamed of his son that he chose to stay out of the public eye and reportedly failed to return to work at a supermarket 12 miles close to the Iraqi border in Kuwait where he worked.
A 40-year-old colleague of the senior Emwazi, Abu Meshaal, shared his recent phone conversation with Emwazi with The Telegraph:
“He was very emotional and crying the whole time,” Meshaal disclosed. “He said, ‘My son is a dog. He is an animal, a terrorist.’ He said he had talked to him a lot trying to get him to return to his personal life but that the son didn’t listen to him.”
“He said, ‘To Hell with my son,'” Meshaal added.
“He is sitting home and cannot even go to the mosque to pray because he is ashamed of his son,” Meshaal said. “He doesn’t want people to see him, so he is praying at home.”
