It seems like the trickling effect of Donald Trump’s outburst during his presidential announcement a a few days ago may be causing quite some damage for the real estate billionaire. In line with the negative publicity the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants have received since Donald Trump’s derogatory comments about Mexicans went viral (click here if you missed it), Mexico has announced that it will not send contestants to the upcoming Miss Universe pageant.
According to the Associated Press, this recent development was announced via social media by the Director of Mexico’s beauty pageant. Univison, the biggest Spanish language broadcaster in America, who have been with the show for about five years, also pulled out of the contest as a result of Trump’s statement about Mexicans.
These series of developments might cause a major setback in the pageants’ agenda. However, the organizers have said that the show will still hold despite the controversies.
