According to BleacherReport.com, DeAndre Jordan was one of the most sought-after free agents this offseason, and the All-Star center has found a new home with the Dallas Mavericks on a four-year, $80 million deal, per Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times.
Earlier in the day, the Clippers were confident Jordan would return to the team, according to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders. Jordan met with L.A. head coach Doc Rivers, owner Steve Ballmer and president of business operations Gillian Zucker on July 2, per Wojnarowski.
It was also reported that Jordan is taking less money, even with the Texas-sized tax break — four years at $80 million versus the Clippers’ offer of five years at $108 million. He is playing with lesser players — the Mavericks have nobody to compare to Chris Paul or Blake Griffin.
