The death of prominent people both in Hollywood and the entertainment industry as a whole is becoming alarming. Another veteran has been added to the list of departed celebrities.
Country music producer and songwriter Billy Sherrill has died at the age of 78.
Sherrill passed away on Tuesday in Nashville, Tennessee, according to the Associated Press.
He was said to have worked with artists such as Tammy Wynette and George Jones and he was key to the development of the “countrypolitan” sound of the 60s and 70s.
The Grammy award-wining producer was known for creating the bridge that gave country music the ability to compete with other pop-related genres. His unique production style helped create landmark songs including Stand by Your Man, The Most Beautiful Girl, and Behind Closed Doors.
