Frenchman and Chelsea defender, Kurt Zouma, 21, landed awkwardly and broke his right knee during Blues’ draw with Manchester United yesterday. He was carried from the pitch on a stretcher amid fears that his season could be over.
Chelsea’s interim manager,Guus Hiddink, admitted after the game the injury looked ‘bad’, but would not speculate on how long the defender would be out.
Hiddink told Sky Sports: “Tomorrow we will know more, but if you have this injury it’s bad. Let’s see. It’s a hyperextension and that’s always bad. I had this problem once and it hurts very much. I am not a doctor, let’s wait and see what the MRIs will show.”
