Yesterday, we brought to you news of Kanye West’s protest after the Grammy Awards show, in which he blasted the recording academy for being ‘disrespectful” by giving the “Album of the Year Award” to Beck over Beyonce. West in continuing with his rant also said that Beck shold have respected artistry and given his award to Beyonce. Click here if you missed it.
With all these ranting going on yesterday, we were looking forward to hearing what Beck had to say in response to Kanye West’s comments. Apparently, when West rushed to the stage and almost took the microphone ahead of Beck before he gave his acceptance speech, Beck actually told Us Weekly that he wanted the rapper to join him onstage: “I was just so excited he was coming up. He deserves to be onstage as much as anybody,” …..”How many great records has he put out in the last five years, right?”
On the need for Beck to respect artistry and give his award to Beyonce as stated by Kanye West, Beck also told Us Weekly: “You can’t please everybody, man. … I still love him and think he’s genius. I aspire to do what he does.”
