It seems like it is becoming a month/week for break ups and divorces. Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas have signed documents to officially end their 18-year marriage.
Usually they say that after a couple cross their 15th anniversary then they are in for the long haul. However, this is not the case for the duo.
The 57-year-old actress and the 54-year-old Spanish actor separated in June 2014 following a joint statement where they said:
‘We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost 20-year marriage in a loving and friendly manner, honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends, and the beautiful time we have spent together,’ Daily Mail reported.
In June, the couple sold their Hancock Park mansion for a record $15.9 million.
They both fell in love on the set of the 1995 romantic comedy Too Much. It was also reported that Melanie showed how deep her love was by getting his name tattooed in a heart on her upper right arm, which now appears to have faded. The couple have an 18-year-old daughter together, named Stella.
This becomes Melanie’s fourth divorce and the second for Antonio.
