Nollywood multiple award-winning talented actress, radio host, and musician, Stella Damasus has always been very vocal about issues of general interests including those related to child abuse and domestic violence. This year, we’ll be seeing a more vocal and daring Stella who has given us a snippet of what to expect when she previously said she will be B.A.D. (BOLD AND DARING) this year!
A few days ago, she took to Instagram to express her opinion about domestic violence and to showcase her participation in the ‘No More’ campaign in the United States, whose core objective if to fight against abuse of African women and said:
“We are sick and tired of people telling us, it’s okay for your husband to hit you just because he paid your bride price. We are sick and tired of the ignorance surrounding domestic violence in Africa. We are sick and tired of the law enforcement agencies in Africa, telling us that it’s a domestic affair and should be resolved at home.
We are sick and tired of mothers telling their daughters that it’s okay to be beaten by their husbands because they went through the same thing. Domestic violence is not a peculiar problem, it is universal.
