As part of the ‘Black History Month‘ last month, United States President Barrack Obama invited Nigerian teenager, Saheela Ibraheem to the White House on Thursday, 26th February. She is currently an undergraduate at the Harvard University and was accepted into this prestigious institution at a precocious age of 15. At the time of her admission, she had received 13 other offers from institutions of higher learning around the US and 6 of them were Ivy League colleges, but she chose Harvard.
Dubbed one of the world’s 50 smartest teenagers, she is expected to graduate from Harvard later this year. She majored in neurology.President Obama expressed his appreciation of her special talent with the following message:
“There are a lot of teenagers in the world. Saheela is like one of the 50 smartest ones. That’s pretty smart. And she’s a wonderful young lady. She’s like the State Department and the National Institute of Health all rolled into one. And we are so proud of your accomplishments and all that lies ahead of you. And you reflect our history. Young people like you inspire our future.”
