Edgar Lungu, Zambian President, was reportedly rushed to the hospital on Sunday, after collapsing on the podium while presiding over a women’s day celebration in Lusaka. This incident occured less than two months after taking over from the previous leader who died in office. According to an AlJazeera report, the president has been treated for malaria, and there is currently no cause for alarm.
“I am feeling much better and have been told I have high levels of fatigue and should take some rest…there is nothing to worry about,” he said.
