The 20 year old son of A-Class actor Tom Cruise took to twitter to criticize Caitlyn Jenner for being scheduled to receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPY Awards next month, according to E! News as reported by Inquisitr.
Connor Cruise who is currently working as a DJ wrote the following message on his twitter page but deleted it following many negative reactions from other Twitter users:
“Really?? Winning the AA award for courage?? Ashton is gonna come out and yell PUNK’D. Don’t get me wrong. Do what you feel like doing and don’t let anyone stop you. But everyone is taking this way too seriously…There are so many more important things that should be talked about…And SO MANY MORE IMPORTANT PEOPLE that actually deserve an award.”
“I’m totally supportive of people staying true to themselves and finding true happiness in whatever way they can. There are just more things that we as a nation and as a planet should be talking about and working on.”
The Arthur Ashe Courage Awards is scheduled to take place at the Staple Center, Los Angeles next month. Among the past recipient of the award are Micheal Sam (the first openly gay NFL player), Robin Williams, Pat Summit and Nelson Mandela!
