World record holder for short sprint, Usain Bolt has confirmed his attendance at the Athletissima Golden League to be held in Lausanne, Switzerland on 9th July this year. The Jamaican who is a six time Olympic champion with six gold medals to his record in the short sprint category of track and field will be participating in the 200m at Athleletissima. He is already an undisputed world record holder for the 100m and 200m sprints.
One week before the game, he also confirmed his participation at the Paris Track and Field event for the 100m sprint. The sprinter had earlier confirmed that he will be at the World Track and Field Championship to be held in Beijing on 22nd to 30th August, as reported by DailyMail.co.uk.
Having earned the moniker ‘Lightning Bolt’, the sprinter never shy away from challenges in all world stage track and field event and was a center of camera attraction in past Olympic Games. His famous pose has become a personal trademark and very much a patented image in many sports’ accessories sponsorship.
Among the recognition he has earned include the IAAF World Athlete of the Year, Track and Field Athlete of the Year and Laurens World Sportman of the Year (3 times). He was reportedly the highest paid track and field sportman, according to Wikipedia.
