A few days ago, Julius Malema, the South African youthful politician and leader of the ‘Economic Freedom Fighters’ Party rebuked Nigerian President Jonathan for being an ‘irresponsible leader’ by keeping silent on the Boko Haram massacre at Baga village, within Nigeria’s home soil but swift to issue a statement to commiserate with the Charlie Hebdo’s slaying in Paris. This comes around the same time when Madonna on the other hand took to Instagram to bring worldwide attention to this sad incident in Baga which she felt had not received worldwide coverage like the Charles Hebdo one. The eccentric politician said that he considers tabling a motion at the South African Legislative Assembly to condemn the massive killings of innocent lives by Boko Haram, which he said in a press conference at the South African capital.
He further mocked the Nigerian President by punning on his name: “Eh Goodlook, or Goodluck or whatever his name is or badluck I don’t know …He is quick to release statement about the killing in Paris; but don’t (doesn’t) say anything about the killings in his own country. That’s an irresponsible leadership,” Mr. Malema said.
“We are really saddened by what is happening in Nigeria. It is highly disturbing.”
“And we need South African Government to intervene and we will be raising the matter in the Parliament.
