Protests led by the All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate Umana Okon Umana hit the streets of Akwa-Ibom state yesterday to voice their dissatisfaction over the State electoral process and demand the suspension of the elections and removal of INEC State Commissioner Austin Okajie.
The gubernatorial candidate also alleged that there was widespread rigging of the electoral process and accused INEC of being a party to it.
The protesters later went to the office of the State INEC and barricaded it. However, there was no recorded incidence of violence from this protest.
