President Goodluck Jonathan attended former President Shehu Shagari’s 90th birthday on Wednesday, 25th of February in what was described as a gathering of both past and present Nigerian leaders. The former President’s birthday celebration was held at his home in Sokoto State and was attended by other past Nigerian leaders including Ernest Shonekan, Ibrahim Bagangida, Yakubu Gowon and Abdulsalam Abubakar.
Also present was Jonathan’s predecessor, Olusegun Obasanjo who recently caused a media spectacle by dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and requesting for his membership card to be torn in public. Click here if you missed it!
Shehu Shagari was the President of Nigeria from 1979 – 1983.
