The annual BAFTAs nominees party which takes place the evening before the awards, was also held this year, on February 7th. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts chose Kensington Palace, home of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton as the place to “throw” the star-studded party.
“I can’t compete with the Oscars on so many levels“, BAFTA CEO, Amanda Berry told The Hollywood Reporter. “But I can throw a uniquely British party at a royal palace.”
Most of the stars nominated and contributors from nominated movies like ‘The Theory of Everything’, ‘Birdman’, ‘Foxcatcher’, ‘Wild’, ‘Boyhood’, ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ and ‘Whiplash’ were there, with the likes of Eddie Redmayne, Felicity Jones, Reese Witherspoon, Mark Ruffalo, Ralph Fiennes, Benedict Cumberbatch, Patricia Arquette, Amy Adams, Keira Knightley, Michael Keaton, JK Simmons and Edward Norton all attending the party.
