In a recent interview with Daily Mirror UK, 72 year old Paul McCartney spoke candidly about his past marijuana abuse, saying he gave it up many years ago because he wanted to set a good example for his children and grandchildren, according to Time Magazine. The Beatles legend was well-known for his pot use who spent 10 days in jail in 1980 when he tried to enter Japan with a large quantity of marijuana.
He however said that giving it up was a ‘parent thing’ and it has been a long time since he touched it. His new found indulgence now is just wine or some margarita.
While he has given up his pot use for a long time, Paul McCartney has not fully retired from the musical pop scene and is still active in numerous charitable performances worldwide albeit in a more relaxed pace.
Among his upcoming tours are: June 21st performance at Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, June 23rd performance at John Paul Jones Arena, Charlottesville, Virginia and June 25th performance at Colonial Life Arena, Columbia, just to name a few, according to his website.
