According to a recent report by Reuters, Boko Haram has abducted over 400 women and children from Damasak in Borno State, one of the towns reportedly taken over by by troops from Niger and Chad earlier this month.
Although, the exact number of individuals abducted has not been officially confirmed, numerous sources however say is it is over 400.
Souleymane Ali, who revealed that his wife and three of his daughters were among those abducted told reporters that:
“They took 506 young women and children (in Damasak). They killed about 50 of them before leaving, We don’t know if they killed others after leaving, but they took the rest with them.”
