Hundreds of Nigerians protested in front of the Nigerian House in London on Sunday, 25th January, to bring the world’s attention to the recent massacre in Baga.
The protesters were seen holding banners describing the killings in Baga and shouting to the cameras for awareness in what was very much an under-reported massacre in view of the massive lives lost. Most were carrying banners or tabloid-size papers with the catch-phrase ‘Nigerian Lives Matter‘ to attract the media’s attention.
Amnesty International estimated the death toll to be about 2,000 lives but the military downplayed the figure. Click HERE for a satellite image of the devastation described by the organization.
