After beating Ghana to progress to the finals of the African Youth Championship (click here if you missed it), the Nigerian U-20 team have won their 7th African title by beating the Senegal team 1-0 on Sunday, March 22nd at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium in Dakar. Nigeria had previously won the title in 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, 2005 and 2011.
The Flying Eagles team confirmed that they are indeed African’s giant when in the 18th minute, Bernard Bulbwa swiveled after collecting the ball in flight and goal keeper Sai of Senegal could not deflect nor stop Bulbwa’s flick.
It was an outstanding outing for the Flying Eagles and congratulations to the Nigerian team!
