There has always been on and off rumors that Miley Cyrus may be bisexual, but she’s always been known to publicly date dudes – Patrick Schwarzenegger and Liam Hemsworth – and therefore, most people took the speculations with a grain of salt. But, last month, photos of the “We Can’t Stop” singer kissing both a man and a woman hit the internet, which further intensified the rumors that she may not be straight. Click here if you missed it!
According to a recent report by Hollywood Life, the former Disney star revealed in a recent interview while promoting her new Happy Hippie Foundation, that she not all her relationships have been “straight, heterosexual” ones and she had delved into female sexual relationships, thereby confirming that she had previously dated both guys and girls but, she reportedly did not elaborate further.
Her foundation helps to support homeless and LGBT youth and the 22-year-old, seems to be encouraging her fans to stand brave and tall to defend who they are and be their best at it.
“The pink pits are saying, ‘Don’t tell me what to do,’” Miley told The Associated Press. “It’s back to what I’m preaching in a way, you know, telling these kids. I’m not just saying you be yourself and I’m going to go be Miley Cyrus. I’m saying I’m going to be my (expletive) self, too.”
“The position I’m in, I feel like I’ve got a lot of power,” she explained. “But so many kids don’t feel that way. They’re under their parents’ rule. When you have all eyes on you, what are you saying? And that’s what I had to ask myself a lot. It’s like, I know you’re going to look at me more if my (breasts) are out, so look at me. And then I’m going to tell you about my foundation for an hour and totally hustle you.” Not a bad idea, right?!
Miley also promised to stay focused on broadening the acceptance of LBGT youth and improving the lives of homeless adolescents for the next five years.
