Yesterday was an especially historic one for the Orange is the new black actress Laverne Cox, 31, who became the first transgender person to get a wax figure at Madame Tussauds.
As we reported earlier, the wax figure in Laverne’s likeness was scheduled to be unveiled yesterday Friday June 26th at the San Francisco branch of the famous museum during the Pride Weekend festivities in the Bay Area. Click here if you missed it!
Visitors to the Fisherman’s Wharf museum had voted Cox as the public figure they would most like to see in wax, and she had to donate the form-fitting Herve Leger cocktail dress she wore on the cover of Time Magazine for her other self.
