The trailer for Kobe Bryant’s new documentary, ‘Kobe Bryant’s Muse‘ on Showtime, was just recently released. The short film, which was directed by Gotham Chopra, will reveal a new, unexpected side of Bryant compared to the “fighter” one, that we have all admired over the years on NBA. The documentary explores Kobe’s upbringing, setbacks and failures as well as his life beyond professional basketball glory.
‘I have things I want to think about’, Bryant says in the trailer. ‘Things I want to dive into and get off my chest.’
Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa watched the film at a private screening on Thursday night at the London Hotel in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, along with close friends, several athletes and sports agents.
According to Sasha Bronner on Huffington Post:
‘Kobe Bryant’s Muse’ is more than a glorified highlight reel. Yes, there is great footage of him at every stage of his career, including air balls from his first season with the Lakers. But instead of focusing on Bryant’s all-star games, championship rings and milestones — like recently surpassing Michael Jordan on the NBA’s all-time highest scorer list – the filmmakers aim to go deeper, and darker. Chopra and Bryant, who executive produced the film and was involved every step of the way, explore some of the more complicated and conflicted emotions behind Bryant’s success.
We all can’t wait to watch ‘Kobe Bryant’s Muse‘ and see the various aspects of the life of one of the greatest basketball stars in NBA’s history as revealed in the documentary.
