Kim Kardashian is fast becoming a social advocate! During her visit to Armenia recently, she and Kanye West together with the Kardashian sisters visited the Yerevan memorial to raise awareness of the Armenian Genocide a century ago where the Ottoman Turks massacred over 1.5 million Armenians. A recent report according to the Queensland Times of Australia says that Kim is working on a passionate pet project using social media on mental health. Poor mental health is perhaps one of the most inextricable stigma in our society today and raising awareness about it continues to be one of the most pressing societal needs. Having a high profile personality like Kim publicly voicing opinion about it is expected to yield some positive results. Queensland Times reported that Kim is the Executive Producer of the documentary and the project’s name is #RedFlag.
“I am blessed to be surrounded by family and friends that are loving and nurturing, but not everyone has that kind of support,” Kardashian said.
“Twenty five percent of adults in America will suffer from a mental illness in their lifetime, and many of them turn to social media to vent their depression, loneliness, and isolation.”
#RedFlag will be followed up by a debrief program, in which Dr Drew Pinsky will offer his expertise.
