Instagram had what is called an ‘account rapture’ this week in which several inactive and spam accounts from the Social Media’s database were deleted. This effort from Instagram to clean up their systems led to several users seeing a drop in their follower count, and Kim Kardashian was not an exception.
Kardashian who has 23 million Instagram followers and recently tried to break the internet with the nude photo shoot pictures she did for Paper Magazine was impacted a little bit with Instagram’s account purge and lost about 1.3 million as a result of this account rapture, but despite this, we learned she now has a new title, which is ‘the most-followed Insta-celeb‘, People Magazine reports.
With this recent event, Kardashian now has more followers than Justin Bieber, who lost more than 3.5 million of his 23 million Instagram followers to the account purge. Other celebrities impacted include Ariana Grande who lost 1.5 million of her 21 million followers, and Beyoncé who also lost more than 800,000 of her 22 million followers.
