Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo is now streaming in a lot digital music platforms and its available to buy for the first time.
The rap superstar’s seventh album premiered at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 11 and got its semi-official release Feb. 14 on Tidal. But before now, Tidal was the only legitimate channel to listen to it.
Kanye had sworn the album would be exclusive Tidal.
However, all 19 tracks of TLOP are available, initially, to Spotify subscribers in markets as far flung as Australia. The album has now gone wide across all streaming services and its been made available to download from Kanye West’s official website.
KanyeWest.com is offering downloads of the album for $20. The version made widely available is newly updated, remixed and remastered and, according to a statement from Def Jam, in the months to come, Kanye will release new updates, new versions, and new iterations of the album.
Earlier in the week, sources had claimedTLOP was poised to enjoy a wide release and the major label confirmed the release strategy would be a “continuous process.”
“Stay tuned for updates on Kanye West’s living album project, The Life Of Pablo…” Def Jam enthuses in a statement issued Friday.
The “Pablo” news doesn’t end there. West’s lowkey song “Saint Pablo” has leaked.
Kanye premiered the track in February at a listening party in L.A., then followed-up with a tweet that he’d written it “after admitting to my greatest shame my personal debt. But I’m not ashamed anymore.”
“Saint Pablo,” which clocks in at more than six minutes and features vocals from Samph, was posted to various platforms overnight. But on each occasion the recording was taken down within minutes.
“I can see a thousand years from now in real life/Skate on the paradigm and shift it when I feel like/Grow conventional thought, don’t need to question/I know it’s antiquated so sometimes I get aggressive,” he raps on it.
“Saint Pablo” doesn’t appear on the international release of TLOP.
