Kanye West is known for scowling at photographers whenever they attempt to take his pictures in public! While at the inaugural Daily Front Row’s Fashion Awards at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles on Thursday, the 37-year-old explained that his typically glum appearance takes after the ‘cool’ expressions seen during the late 19th-century.
He also said that though he’s always happy and smiling on the inside, he refuses to smile for the camera, which was inspired from a history book he found in a Parisian flea market. “I looked at all these people’s photos and they look so real and their outfits were incredible and they weren’t smiling and people, you know the paparazzi, always come up to me, “Why you not smiling?” and I think, not smiling makes me smile. ‘When you see paintings in an old castle, people are not smiling cause it just wouldn’t look as cool.”
