Serena Williams won her sixth Wimbledon title on Saturday morning after defeating Garbine Muguruza of Spain, 6-4, 6-4, which takes her closer to winning the Grand Slam in the same year if she can win the United States Open this year as she’s already won the Australian Open, French Open, and now, Wimbledon. While everyone was celebrating Serena’s victory yesterday, one Twitter follower, who goes by the name of Rob decided to criticize Serena Williams’ body suggesting the following:
“[The] main reason for her success is that she is built like a man.”
The Harry Potter author, J.K. Rowling however did not take kindly to Rob’s comments and shared her nasty response with her 4.9 million followers:
“Yeah, my husband looks just like this in a dress,” she tweeted with Williams working a chic red dress. “You’re an idiot.”
Apparently, Rowling is a proud member of #TeamSerena just like millions of tennis fans around the world. Before Saturday morning’s final, the 49-year-old best-selling writer shared a photo of the tennis star with a reallysweet message.
“I’m #TeamSerena today, because you don’t meet many super-talented people nicer than she is,” she wrote online. “Go @SerenaWilliams.”
She added, “#SerenaSlam! I love her! What an athlete, what a role model, what a woman!”
