Ivory Coast defeated Ghana to win the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in a penalty shootout, beating Ghana 9-8 on penalties after neither team could score a goal throughout the match. This victory for Ivory Coast is a spectacular and dramatic one as it represents the team’s first Africa Cup of Nations since 1992.
Ivory Coast’s goal keeper, Boubakar Barry was the hero of the day, as he was able to stop Ghana’s last kick and then stepped up to score a goal.
Congratulations to the winning team!
