Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau had earlier pledge allegiance to the ISIS in an online recording last Saturday, 7th March. The message of allegiance and affiliation has not been wasted. ISIS via the spokesman, Abu Mohammed Al-Nani for its media wing, Al Furqan has returned the pledge with a compliment, according to New York Post.
“We announce to you to the good news of the expansion of the caliphate to West Africa because the caliph… has accepted the allegiance of our brothers of the Sunni group for preaching and the jihad,” said the spokesman.
During an interview with Voice of America recently, President Goodluck Johnathan said that Boko Haram fighters have received tactical training in ISIS camps, a hint that both terrorist groups have a sort of mutual cooperation in their campaign of terror.
ISIS last week updated the public with its latest execution of a two men accused as homosexual and another for blasphemy.
