The Indian Acting High Commissioner, the honorable Kaisar Alam yesterday revealed to the News Agency of Nigeria he is seeking partnership between his Country Film Producing Powerhouse and Nollywood.
Bollywood is the second largest movie producing hub outside Hollywood in the United States. A collaboration with Nigeria’s film-making enterprise is another feather to the local movie producing industry cap where fresh and novel elements can be infused into it. Already, Nollywood is in collaboration with Hollywood on some specific projects, to avail itself of many techniques and formulas erstwhile unavailable in the local industry. Further collaboration with other movie powerhouses are just other ways of enriching our know-how in produce a craft. As quality goes up the value chain, Nigerian movies can be marketed not just within the continent but as far as East Asia and the Pacific.
According to the Envoy, both Bollywood and Nollywood contributed substantially to the Gross Domestic Product of both countries.
