ISIS has reportedly put up a notice to memorize passages in the Islamic holy book of Quran in the Al-Barakah district in Syria where the top three winners getting a prizes of a slave girl, according to the Business Insider and Clarion Project.org. The contest is in conjunction with the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Links to the chapters of the Quran that have been chosen for the competition are provided (the translation is the Sahih International version). The chapters however selected by the Islamic State include some of the most warlike passages in the entire Quran.
The notice reads as follows :
To the soldiers of the Islamic State in all of the departments in the province of el-Baraqa
We congratulate you for the blessed Ramadan month and may the Lord accept from us and from you the fast …
May god deliver us and you from the fire.
The department of dawa in the mosques announces the beginning of a tournament to memorize suras from the book of allah. The Suras are:
From the first of Ramadan 1436 until the 20th of Ramadan.
Whoever wants to participate must register with the imams of the following mosques.
The Mosque of Abu Bakr el-Sadiq
The Mosque of Osama Bin Laden
The Mosque of Abu Musab el-Zarqawi
The Mosque of el-Taqwa
In the name of Allah, the competitors will be divided and marked between the dates Ramadan 21st until Ramadan 27th. The prizes will be distributed on the first day of Eid el-Fitr in the name of Allah.
